WHO WE ARE
We are Community Representation for Blaauwberg (CRB)—a united group of residents and professionals who are fighting for a better, smarter, and more sustainable future for our community.
We believe that development must serve the people who live here—not just developers or city planners working in isolation.
This is more than just a fight to stop bad planning—it’s a fight to ensure Big Bay becomes the best version of itself.
ABOUT US – OUR COMMUNITY, OUR FUTURE, OUR FIGHT
Big Bay is more than just a place. It’s a community.
It’s where we live, where we raise our families, where businesses thrive, where friendships form, and where generations have come to enjoy the breathtaking coastline, vibrant outdoor lifestyle, and world-class views of Table Mountain.
We are residents, business owners, families, and individuals who care deeply about this place—and we refuse to let poor planning, unchecked development, and bad decisions destroy what makes it special.
THE THREAT TO OUR COMMUNITY
Right now, the future of Big Bay is being decided without real community involvement. The draft LSDF plan for Erf 1117 is:
A threat to our identity – It ignores the unique character of Big Bay and Bloubergstrand.
A threat to our economy – It disregards the importance of tourism and local businesses.
A threat to our environment – It places short-term gain over long-term sustainability.
A threat to our quality of life – It forces dense, disconnected development with no real plan for livability.
If this plan moves forward, Big Bay will lose its essence. It will become another overdeveloped, high-density sprawl—one that lacks the charm, balance, and sense of place that makes it one of the most desirable coastal destinations in the world.
We cannot allow this to happen.
THE OPPORTUNITY – A COMMUNITY-FOCUSED FUTURE
We don’t just oppose bad development. We support smart, sustainable, and inclusive urban planning that puts the community first.
A vibrant, integrated, and walkable neighborhood that encourages connection, not congestion.
A place where people can live, work, and thrive—not just a dense cluster of buildings with no thought to livability.
A tourism-driven, environmentally responsible economy that enhances our businesses and lifestyle.
A master plan designed with and for the community—not imposed on us without real consultation.
WHY WE FIGHT
Because we live here. This is our home, and we have a right to shape its future.
Because strong communities deserve strong representation. We will not be ignored.
Because we believe in a future that is built on vision, not compromise.
Because Big Bay is not just land—it’s people, families, businesses, and a way of life.
WHAT WE STAND FOR
Community-first urban planning – Development must work for the people who call Big Bay home.
A sustainable, future-proofed economy – Tourism, local businesses, and smart growth must be prioritized.
Environmental responsibility – Our nature reserves, coastline, and open spaces must be protected.
Transparency & accountability – Every decision about our future must be made with us, not for us.
THE TIME TO ACT IS NOW
The LSDF draft proposals are weak, uninspired, and unacceptable.
We demand better.
We will not be sidelined.
We will make our voices heard.
This is our home. This is our fight. And we will not stop until we have secured a future that is worthy of our community.
Vote here. Join us. Stand with us. Speak up. Together, we will protect what matters most.
Because the land isn’t just a place. It’s our community. And we will fight for it.
